What you can expect
Enjoy a Gold Coast surfing lesson at Main Beach in a lovely natural environment just a few minutes north of Sea World at an area called The Spit. This beautiful spot near **Surfers Paradise** is one of the last undeveloped areas on the **Gold Coast** and it is a well known **surfing** spot for locals in the know! Protected by the Seaway wall, The Spit provides perfect conditions for beginners and intermediate level surfers. **Get Wet** **Surf School** is a locally owned and operated family business. Get Wet have been operating for over 13 years now and prior to that we have been involved in local tourism for decades.
We are known to provide a safe, fun and memorable surfing experience on the Gold Coast where customer service is our top priority and we guarantee that you stand up on your board or your next lesson free! All the equipment that you need will be provided for you, just bring a smile and we take care of the rest.
You can also pay an additional charge and we can take action photos of you in the surf! We can pick you up from Surfers Paradise for a small fee too! If you are wanting to learn to surf then get out there with Get Wet and start riding today!

- Lessons held at The Spit, the locals favourite learn to surf beach, located 2km past Sea World on Seaworld Drive, Main Beach
- Self Drive - meet at our Surf Shack located behind the iconic Seaway Café in Doug Jennings Park, The Spit. Follow down the right hand side of the cafe and you'll see our office in the back!
- Transfers are only available when purchased when booking direct with the supplier. Pick ups are restricted to the locations listed on our web site and are only available for surf lesson participants. Approximate pick up times are provided when you book but these are subject to change due to traffic. The shuttle driver will wait a max of 2 min if you are not in the designated pick up location on time, they will continue on and you will have to make your own way to the beach. Please note: If you would like to add multiple pickups to your booking there will be additional costs.
- - Swimwear - Towel - Bottle of water - In winter months we advise you bring a warm jacket for after the lesson
- - Minimum age is 14 - The indemnity form in your confirmation email must be signed prior to the lesson - You do not have to be a strong swimmer although some experience swimming is necessary
- In consideration of Organisers accepting my application to participate in these activities, I acknowledge, understand and agree that: 1. “Organisers” for the purposes of this declaration means Get Wet Surf School and their respective directors, officers, members or agents. Warning: Participating in these activities could be potentially dangerous. I understand the nature and requirements of the activity and acknowledge that serious accidents could happen which may result in me being seriously injured or even killed. I have voluntarily read and understood this warning and accept and assume the inherent risks in participating in the activity. 2. Physical Fitness: I must not participate in the activity if I have any injury, disability, medical or health condition that may increase the risk of me becoming injured unless I have disclosed this information and have a doctors authorisation to participate. I declare that I am medically and physically fit and able to participate in the activity and I will immediately notify the relevant authorities of any change to my fitness and ability to participate. I understand and accept that Get Wet Surf School will continue to rely on this declaration as evidence of my fitness and ability to participate. 3. Instructions: I will at all times comply with the instructions and safety procedures of Get Wet Surf School. Medical Treatment: If required, Get Wet Surf School will arrange medical or hospital treatment (including ambulance transportation) for me. I authorise such actions being taken by Get Wet Surf School and agree to meet all costs associated with such action. Release & Indemnity: My participation in the activity is entirely at my own risk and I agree to: (a) Release and forever discharge Get Wet Surf School from all liability and Claims that I may have or may have had but for this release arising from or in connection with my participation in the activity; (b) Indemnify and hold harmless Get Wet Surf School to the extent permitted by law in respect of any Claim by any person including but not only another participant in the activity arising as a result of or in connection with my participation in the activity. In this clause 6 “Claims” means and includes any action, suit, proceeding, claim, demand, damage, penalty, cost or expense however arising (including negligence, trespass to the person or for breach of implied terms in the sale of services under section 74 of the Trade Practices Act (1974) Cth and equivalent provisions contained in State sale of goods or fair trading legislation). 4. Identity: Photographic and or visual images taken by Get Wet Surf School of my participation in the activity may be used for general promotion of Get Wet Surf School. 5. Privacy: I understand that the information provided by me in this form is necessary for the operation of the activity. I acknowledge and agree that the information will only be used for the objects of Get Wet Surf School and to provide me with information pertaining to the activity. I understand that I will be able to access my information through Get Wet Surf School upon request. If the information is not provided I might not be permitted to participate in the activity. 6. Transfers are only available when purchased via booking. Pick ups are restricted to the locations listed on our web site and are only available for surf lesson participants. Approximate pick up times are provided when you book but these are subject to change due to traffic. - As standard, 24 hours’ notice must be given for full refund.

My daughter and grandson attended this lesson
My daughter and grandson attended this lesson. They said that they teach you everything you need to know to get started. If you aren't getting they will teach you again step by step and they were very patient and encouraging. It was a fantastic experience.

This was an amazing experience
This was an amazing experience. Despite a windy day I learnt to stand up on a board. The staff were great and friendly but most of all patient. They communicated with me well in advance to work out the logistics of the day. There were 8 people in the group which was good as everyone was learning and no one needed to be self conscience. It gave me the confidence to continue to develop my skills on my own.

Trainers were very friendly and they were clear in their explanations
Trainers were very friendly and they were clear in their explanations. Overall a fun and good experience. It was exhilarating as we take on the crashing waves at the main beach. However, it would have been. better if trainers gave us more assistance. An enriching activity for the adventurous ones!
